A roll was made to the main channel Tuesday, #18.10.04.520268. All internal fixes.

The three RC channels and Snack also got updates, #18.10.19.520868 for Blue Steel. Le Tigre and Magnum were not ‘determined’ as to which version they would get. Snack is getting an EEP update, 18.10.19.520844 (?).

There was some mix up in which version of EEP was going out. Some little glitch in operations gave Rider Linden an opportunity to get a newer version of EEP on Snack. So, the 520844 version is probably not the version rolling out. That the region Denby (URL) is running Second Life RC Snack 18.10.20.520891, is a good indication 520891 is the version actually rolled. With the EEP viewer you can see EEP on the main grid.

The fun stuff is still over on the Preview Grid, ADITI.

Photoshop CC 2019

A new version of Photoshop is out. Here is a video explaining 20 of the more interesting new features. They include mention of a couple of performance improvements, which I don’t think much of… but, I will pay attention when I try the tasks next.

Some basic key operation has changed. Undo (Ctrl-Z) is one. I think the new behaviors are more logical. But, I will have to unlearn the old ways now committed to muscle memory. The changes affect a number of things. So, I’ll be bumping into them.

And there are sort of small changes that will make using PS much nicer.

Second Life: Enhanced Environment Project

This is coming along nicely. Simon and Oz Linden have started using it in the AGNI grid. You have to have an EEP Viewer to see the change, but, soon the RC viewer will go main and EEP will be an official feature of SL.

At the Server-Scripting UG meeting I arrived using the Firestorm viewer. The sky looked very different.

Using region defaults I got this odd result. At first, I was trying to figure out what I was last doing that messed things up.

Then Simon explained what had changed. Switching over to the EEP Viewer I could see the new sky with a pumpkin moon.

EEP will be fun.

Mazidox Linden says there is no roll to the main channel this week. The channel will stay on version #18.09.20.519894.

AvaStar 2.5 to Release 10/27

It has been in the works awhile. Now there is a planned official release date, October 27, 2018.

The listed highlights are;

Improved support for Male characters
Improved Collada export of characters with custom Shapes
Improved User interface
Rig Converter stability
New Weight Copy Panel
Complete rework of the Help pages (text only)
Many dozens of smaller fixes

Coming behind this update is going to be the Blender update with its heavily reworked User Interface. Ugh… I have no idea how this Blender change will affect AvaStar. I do know I will suddenly be looking for common tools again and relearning Blender. So, I suppose that means AvaStar too.

If you have purchased support, this is a free update. I have and I plan to update my plan when it expires.

SL Universe is Gone – Sort of… but gone. Actually, the SLUniverse forum redirects you to the Virtualverse site as of October 10. You’ll have to open a new account to use the new site. This is the pages showing when an SLUniverse URL is entered.

Viewer Blocked – There is an Android viewer named IM to Second Life. As of last Friday, the Lindens have denied that viewer access to Second Life™. Seems there were privacy and security issues. Serious enough ones to cause the Lindens to act.
