The main channel updated to version #18.04.30.515008, this is the version that hopefully improves… not fixes, region crossings. Specifically, “Updates to simulator communication protocols aimed at improving region crossings and teleports.”

Blue Steel, Le Tigre, and Magnum all get the #18.05.07.515224 version. This is the version preparing for the name change feature by adding scripting functions to LSL.

New LSL Functions:

Seems some regions are getting two restarts today. I suspect that is somewhat common.

Simon Linden tells us, “…the servers are now doing a better job tracking all the attachments and objects you may be sitting on [when crossing a region].   The goal is to know when the region thinks that’s all done, and the viewer acknowledges it.  If that doesn’t happen, it can do better fixing it

Windows 10 Spring 2018 Update

As of April 30, 2018, a new update is rolling out. It was once upon a time to be called the Spring Creator’s Update. I am not sure what happened to that name. Whatever, the update will bring your version number up to 1803.

Here it is May 7 and I am still running Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299…

This version will have the Timeline Feature. This feature will enhance what you see when your press Windows-key + Tab. Try it. Mine shows the programs I currently have running. The newer version will show the current programs and previously run programs, opened docs, and viewed web pages.

A future version of this feature is to include a history of what has been happening on all your devices…

Facebook and Free Speech, Done?

Facebook has abandoned the ideas of free speech and diversity of thought. We know that from a recent speech given at a publishing and technology conference by Campbell Brown, Facebook official. He announced FB would be censoring news based on its internal biases.

Would they really do that? What might they decide to censor? Well, measured usage statics from numerous sites and sources show they already are and what they are censoring. Thinking is, FB is just getting started.

The new media site The Outline started the reporting on the impact of Facebook’s changes. Once people started realizing how pervasive the impact is the excitement started.

We have a Deploys post this week! …and I stayed up long enough to read it. Still semi-sick and sleeping a lot.

Seems the main channel is not getting an update and will remain on #18.04.13.514504. This is the version with; A fix for BUG-214702 and Internal fixes.

Blue Steel will get an update to #18.04.20.514703. This version has a couple of changes needed to support the ability to change our names; New LSL Functions: llName2Key and llRequestUserKey.

Le Tigre, Magnum, and Snack will get version #18.04.30.515008. This version has the changes to improve regions crossings and teleports. These are changes in how region servers talk to each other. No new user-side toys.
