Second Life: New Animation Overrider

On my long ago first day in Second Life™ I was trying to figure out why I waddled and other females swayed when walking. It didn’t take long for me to learn about Animation Overriders, AO’s. I used ZHOA and then ZHOA II during most of my time in SL. But, there have been advances in AO tech since the ZHAO units were developed. Now we have another advance. I’ll take a look at it and whether it is worth the effort to change to a newer AKEYO NITRO AO. My review follows.

The NEW AKEYO NITRO AO

I don’t know when ZHAO first appeared. I found it 2008 when I first went looking for an AO. AO’s improved as the Linden Scripting Language improved. The Mono scripts reduced the memory load, but did little else to change how AO’s worked or their features.

Black Dragon Viewer 2.4.4.5

This release has some fixes and changes. See: Black Dragon Viewer – Update 2.4.4.5 “Going Places”. My take is lots of things added in the last release were broken but fixed in this release.

Avatar Complexity Information is working. Every developer seems to have some problems with this feature. I think the Lab’s problems were the source. But, it seems to be getting cleaned up in general and it sounds like NiranV has it cleaned up in this release.

Second Life Preview Grid – Week 51

I suspect many of us that use the Preview Grid have avoided changing passwords because changing complicates our access to the Preview Grid (ADITI). I’ve changed mine and filed a trouble ticket to get my ADITI password sync’d up with my AGNI (main grid) password.

Others are running into the problem. I guess it is enough people that the Lindens decided it was time to do something. See: Some may experience login problems to the Beta grid. We are on it. 12/15/2015.

Second Life Scripting: LSL to C#

We don’t get much scripting news in Second Life™ these days. There is Project Sansar which will use C#, which I think dampens the enthusiasm for working on LSL (Linden Scripting Language). But, this little piece of news popped up on SLUniverse: LibLSLCC – Replacement for LSL editor, lsl to C# converter.

I really like this image…

If you’re interested drop by and say thanks. If you’ve tried it out, drop by and give it a review.

The converter is here: Github: EriHoss/LibLSLCC. Scroll down for more information. For those just wanting the executable: LibLSLCC & LSLCCEditor Build.

I’m not scripting. Nothing I’m doing needs a script just now. So, it may be some time before I get to it.

Second Life: The Ghost Town

The Ghost Town is a free-to-play MadPea game. Canary Beck is writing about it. See: Merchants: A chance to get out in front of new Second Life residents, which is a comment on marketing.

MadPea needs merchants to provide prizes… gifts… for a hunt that is part of the game. For details see Canary’s article.

…and this video has nothing to do with anything, I just thought it was neat.

Bodies

Canary also has an article on body shape, men’s and women’s. How men and women draw up the “perfect body” in Second Life. Interesting.
