Things about SL
The crowd seems to have thinned. It was easy getting in. Population of the two regions has been <30 this morning (6-9AM). Visit: Mesh Body Addicts (MBA) Fair (Sim 1) (Sim 2)
The quality of mesh clothes and accessories at this is event is… really good… I thought about which adjective I wanted to use. I was a bit disappointed in Hair Fare this year. But, I enjoyed MBA.
Rumor was we would see a new version release this past week. The source was good. But, it didn’t happen.
As I pointed out, the flurry of wiki updates I normally see wasn’t happening. That changed Sunday. So, a release is likely… soon.
That would be great. Because the 64-bit version I use eats all my 8GB RAM in less than an hour. I have had VBO enabled. I just disabled it and will be watching to see if that helps.

Project Bento is the first mention. If you have been following you know Project Bento is nearing a point where the viewer can promote to RC status.
There is no roll to the main channel this week. See DEPLOYS. The package running on the RC channels last week did not promote. The RC package did update and will roll out tomorrow, Wednesday. The bug found is: Fix for BUG-37573 “Rez silently fails on RC Magnum, RC LeTigre and RC BlueSteel regions”
The main viewer remains 4.06.315555.
This meeting ran 38 minutes. The last 12 being mostly a search for the Simple Inventory Management Viewer. A 2010 project in the version 3.2 era. Not information most of us care about. Kitty Barrnett was hoping to use it as a starting point for a inventory related project.
Second Life Maintenance Viewer version 4.0.7.318189 – Updated Friday. It is looking good as likely to promote to main viewer in week 31. It depends on how it does over the weekend. As of Friday Oz was cautious optimistic it would promote.
Firestorm is expected to release a new version Sunday, 7/31. But, it may get delayed a week. Everything depends on developers and QA testers.
I haven’t seen the rash of wiki changes that usually proceeds a release. So, other than the source being generally reliable, I have no other evidence the release is happening.
But, one is due and soon.
