Fantasy Faire 2018

This is one of the highlights of the year and a major stress test for Second Life™. The day I visit Fantasy Faire is a day where my Premium Membership pays off. Being a member puts me in the small percentage of people that enter after a region is full and not so much a benny is the lag crowds induce and I get to see it at its max.

I look forward to the event. The tough decision is do I get up early or stay up late to avoid some of the crowd?

OpenCollar Peanuts

It is really awkward trying to talk about OpenCollar and be clear on which OpenCollar version is being talked about.  So, I call the one I am talking about Wendy’s OpenCollar (WOC) or Peanut (POC). The other OC scripts, Nirea and Athaliah branch, are OC 7.x names.

The reason I am trying to be clear is an update has come out, Peanut 9. So, getting the right update for your items is important. You have to know which you need.

I subscribe to both OC channels, OpenCollar and Fire Flower. One channel will tell you about OC v7.1 and avoid referring to Wendy’s Peanut version as OC. If you say OC, they treat it as if you could only be talking about the Nirea and Athaliah branch OC.

The plain WOC stuff is mostly free, so redelivery is not really necessary. Plain WOC is basically the scripts and some very basic collars and cuffs. The pretty stuff worn by the hot kinky women is usually custom-made stuff like the things Virtual Disgrace and others sell. Those need to be redelivered on occasion.

So, the vending system providing redelivery just changed, this month. The one used for Wendy’s ‘retail’ items has changed to Casper. Continue reading →

Blossom’s Who? Moved Where?

Blossoms sent out a notice their store has moved to a new location. She now has a pretty store. Totally filled with strippible clothes. You know, the ones with the corny promo line, ‘OMG! So unexpected!’ Something Little Annie Fanny might say. Which as corny as it sounds to me is pretty much what happens… the unexpected part.

The region is also an interesting place to explore. Pretty and a little kinky. So, take a hunk of guy with you… or a couple of ‘em. (MMF or MFF – didn’t see FF) Buy a dress, avoid the ants, walk out to the pool or beach house and let him think he is seducing you.

New Blossom’s Store – 3/2018

If you find it, there is a Fountain of Youth. If only Ponce de León had known… (Actually, there is no historical evidence he was ever looking for or believed there was such a fountain. But, why let facts ruin a good story… the journalistic motto of our day.)

There are some good animations there. Some are by Eline Serendipity, owner of Mystic Fantasies (MP – In-World – RP Area). The animations have great female and male hip movement, something that is hard to animate in SL. Wheee, so hot!  Continue reading →

OpenCollar No Longer OpenCollar?

More SL drama. Unfortunately, about 100,000 SL users will be affected. It seems in November 2017 there was a sudden change in the OpenCollar programming team. Wendy Starfall and Garvin Twine were doing most of the work, programming, marketing, support, etc. for the last 6 years.

The early founders, from the history I can find, are Nandana Singh (now Nirea Resident) and Athaliah Opus. Several involved in the OC Project say they have ignored the project for the last 6 years or so. Leaving it to Wendy, Gaven, and others in the team to do the work and pay for websites and land (regions). But, we would have to define what the speaker means by ‘ignored’.

A point came when Nirea and Athaliah decided the OC project was going the wrong way. It seems that while the open source OC code was being maintained with no income for the programmers from it when the active programmers decided to sell an add-on under a brand name called Virtual Disgrace and some other things based on OC open source code.

The entitlement mindset folks decided it was an outrage that programmers working for free should even consider working for a profit and not giving them everything free… So, the great divide opened. The eventual result Nirea and Athaliah reclaimed the OpenCollar in-world group and kicked Wendy and others on the new path out of the group.

OpenCollar remained fee. But, the programmers were making other toys and selling them on their own. I could use the OpenCollar code and make a toy and sell it. But, you would still be able to get the free OpenCollar code and made your toys and sell them. Continue reading →

I like playing with photography in Second Life… second to dressing up and teasing others… well, maybe dressing up and shopping more than teasing. But, I’m often snapping pictures in SL, whatever I’m doing. Those pictures which I think are good enough, just fun, or show off a new thing I’ve learned, make to Flickr.

On Flickr, I look around to see what others are doing. This is where the hot, amazing, and gorgeous comes in. Here I’ll show you some of the photographer-artists I’ve come across. Of course, these are ones I like. I use no objective standard. It’s just what touches, thrills, or wow’s me.

I do in a small measure consider the number of fav’s an image gets when deciding if it is great or I just my really liking it. But, I’ve seen some awesome images with almost no views or fav’s. So, the number of fav’s represents a mix of popularity and marketing. How many people see the image? Is the artist talented and understands social media well enough to promote an image?

The Odd AFK Sex Thing…

Sex in Second Life is strange, to begin with. But, the big thing right now seems to be AFK sex. There is a growing number of AFK sex places. As you probably expect, they range from sleazy to high end classy and all in between.

The basic idea is one strips their avatar, adds the genitals, and plops her/him on a sex pose-ball… or whatever we call the no pose-ball things, in a sex bed. Then we go do whatever… away from the keyboard – AFK. So, overnight while sleeping, you can have your avatar working servicing horny avatars.

AFK Sex Base Island – OCt 2017

Those that want visual sex without the role play can jump on the bed and have sex with the AFK avatar. The idea is they will tip for the favor. The house takes 0 to 20% and the avatar keeps 100 to 80%. Some see this as a great way to earn Lindens. I’m not so sure. I see a lot of avatars getting banged and a zero-sum in their tip jars. So, they are really getting screwed.

And as you might imagine there are sexbots… entire empires of bots working the AFK sex shops. So, there is a battle between the shop owners, wanting to make their shops open to ‘real’ avatars rather than enriching a bot mogul, and the moguls. I’m not sure it makes any difference to the people wanting sex.
