The New Green Deal

Her point #1 – Its humans… There are facts and there is propaganda. I leave it to you to sort through it. Be warned it is no easy task and one has to get outside their echo chamber.

Her point #2 – Oceans are rising… The same is true here. You can find loads of studies on both sides. Who is telling the truth? Everyone is spinning.

Her point #3 – Global warming at or above 2 degrees Celsius will be a disaster… Then 6 claims of the type of disasters. We’ve been hearing similar claims for 50 years.

Her point #4 – Must reduce greenhouse gas to levels 40 to 60% below 2010 levels by 2030. Think about this. The USA is responsible for something like 20% of targeted greenhouse gases. If we eliminate 100% of the USA emission that only gets us 20%. What does 100% elimination in the US look like? AOC explained in the FAQ’s.

2019 Venezuelans getting away from a government that promised everything…

The government is to “transition” all communities and jobs, the government is to create jobs, rebuild the US infrastructure, house the homeless and unsheltered, take care of the elderly, rebuild the US infrastructure (is that all homes and buildings?) to resist the challenges of climate change (aren’t they going to prevent change?), change to 100% renewable energy, …

upgrading all existing buildings in the United States and building new buildings to achieve maximal energy efficiency, water efficiency, safety, affordability, comfort, and durability, including through electrification;”

Yep, ALL homes and buildings. The replacement value of all the buildings and homes in the US is US$13+ trillion (2013 data).

“overhauling transportation systems in the United States to eliminate pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector as much as is technologically feasible, including through investment in—
(i) zero-emission vehicle infrastructure and manufacturing;
(ii) clean, affordable, and accessible public transportation; and
(iii) high-speed rail;

We are seeing how great high-speed rail is in California… But, giving up my car to save the planet…
