Second Life: Aditi Inventory
Recently a fix for updating of our inventory in ADITI (preview/beta) grid rolled out. Some people are working with it now. I started writing about the changes being made this last December in: Second Life’s ADITI Inventory Update Change.
Today is the first time I’ve logged into Aditi since the change rolled out. So, my inventory has yet to update. I am hoping for a Friday morning update.
Project Bento Update Week 12
I made it to the Bento meeting. This was pretty much just a status update meeting. We did get word that a new version of the Project Bento Viewer will likely be out next week (13).
I still have trouble logging into ADITI. It takes 5+ minutes for me to get logged in. Others at the meeting tell me they too have the problem when they log into Last Location. So, I’ll be trying to log directly into the region by name. I’m told that works better.
The result is I missed the first 10 minutes or so of the meeting. Then the first 5 minutes or so of audio is missing. Because the viewer didn’t connect correctly. 🙁
Bloggers Notice
I’m in the process of trying to stop some content scrappers that that regularly hit this site and suck gigabytes of data as fast as they can. It drives the server CPU to 100%, eats bandwidth, and makes this site extremely slow.
In an effort to discourage scraping, I have disallowed ‘hot linking’ of images. If your blog has used images from this site via a link rather than making a copy of the image, let me know. I can allow your site access. Whether I will depends on how you used the images.
Project Sansar and & VR
Hamlet has an interesting survey up in: In Survey, New World Notes Readers Overwhelmingly Interested in Trying Project Sansar This Year. 65±% want to check out Project Sansar. 23±% are undecided. 10±% are NOT interested.
Since Sansar will be free to play (visit), the 23% waiting to hear more makes no sense to me. I’m waiting to get in so I can see for myself. I’m far too jaded to trust anyone’s opinion more than my own eyes and firsthand experience. If you are waiting on more information, isn’t that an interest?
