Some people are experiencing losing attachments when they cross to a new region or teleport. I’ve had it happen a couple of times. It is apparently a significant problem for a number of people. A thread about it is here: Avatar attachments continually being detached.

There are a number of JIRA Bug Reports, Whirly says thousands:
Oz Linden was saying on last Friday that one more bug fix coming for the RC Second Life Bento Viewer version 5.0.0.321250. Then it will be a candidate for release as the main viewer. This means we will very likely have Project Bento this year and may be before Thanksgiving.

RC Second Life Maintenance Viewer version 4.1.2.321183 is doing well. It could and likely will release before the Bento viewer.
While the order of release is not clear, inside or outside the Lab, the Lindens do expect one to release before Thanksgiving, in a couple of week and the other will become the default a couple weeks after first of December.
For the past few weeks I’ve been using Firestorm 4.7.9.50527 and Linden 4.1.2 and 5.0.0.320160 (Bento). These versions are much better than the pre-September versions that were out. I suppose some of the improvement is my change to a newer computer with 32GB of RAM. But, I still crash.
When black cats prowl …
This version of Firestorm is much better than the previous version. I have found that if I am online for more than an hour I will likely crash on exit. This means if I change any Preferences, I need to relog after making the change or backup the settings (recommended). When FS crashes it does not save the settings so, changes in the session are lost.
These tips came out in 2011. They inspired me to write my version: Second Life Camera Position Tips. I never run a viewer using the default camera position these days. I change them first thing.
No video this week. I recorded one. But, it is too much of a mess to try and clean up.

There is a new Bento Viewer out: Second Life Bento Viewer version 5.0.0.319688. This is the one that came out earlier this week. It is in RC stage now. If you login with your ‘old’ Project Viewer, it should automatically update. If you log into the ADITI grid and update you may get a second update when you log into the main grid, AGNI. It will be the same viewer version you already got but, the viewer is confused so it updates again. Some people have seen their viewers update twice.
3DConnexion has a Windows 10 driver for the SpaceNavigator, version 10.4.5 August 11, 2016. They come in 64-bit and 32-bit versions. If you are on Windows 10, you most likely are on 64-bit. Don’t worry about it too much. If you are on 32-bit and try to install 64-bit software/drivers the 64-bit software/driver will refuse to install.
I CAN HAS SPACENAVIGATOR?
Two years ago I got my SpaceNavigator (SN) and had a heck of a time getting it working as I wanted. So, I wrote the tutorial: 3DConnextion SpaceNavigator v10 for Second Life (8/2014). I used it as my guide for getting my SN working on my new Windows 10 machine.
