This is a version that is ready for TESTING… more than being for daily use. The big change is the RLV fix up.
They are advising you to use this only on the Preview Grid until you are comfortable with it. That makes me a bit nervous.
In testing they want you to be sure about whether a problem is a ‘viewer’ problem or an RLV problem. You do that by seeing if you can replicate the problem in another RLV viewer. Then file the bug report in the appropriate place.

The wording and punctuation made the message unclear. I changed “…sever channel, Magnum,…” to read as “…sever channels; Magnum,…” Whoever types these messages may have English as their second language.
From a speech by by Philip Rosedale, former Linden Lab CEO – 28 minutes. Philip uses Second Life to show what is happening in virtual worlds and how it will affect society. His thinking is interesting and in some ways a bit scary.

NPR/KPBS presented a radio show titled Screen Time. Philip Rosedale was a guest for the show. The audio above is also here: KPBS: Screen Time. The video is where some of the sound track for the show came from. The video is more interesting than the audio. The radio show has more context and less content, the audio is only 9 minutes long. It is worth checking both.

One of the first role play combat games I came across in Second Life™ was NoR. So, while I seldom play there now, I have a spot in my heart for NoR. The regions making up NoR are shutting down. People that have stuff in the regions have less than 24 hours to get it out. Drop dead time about 11AM SLT 9/18.
If you know people that play in NoR, let them know. Email them, call them, whatever and let them know the clock is running.
So, what happened? Well… this is a dark role play game. The people involved like drama and confrontation. So… the story I’ve heard sounds plausible. This announcement was posted 9/17 by Bizarre Obscure:
Halloween is coming. With that comes lots of events and photo contests. While no contest, Linden Lab is asking that people add Halloween images to their official Flickr page. The Lab says your image “…could be featured in an upcoming email or banner campaign.”
