Adobe tempzxpsign…… Temporary Files

You may not have noticed your drive filling up with empty folders. They are out of the way in AppData. Adobe products are creating folders as a place to save temporary files, which get deleted. The programs just forget to delete the folders. It is a bug and it has been around for a few months.

See: tempzxpsign…… temporary files filling up TEMP drive

The more you use Adobe the more folders you have.

The basic story is once all the Adobe programs have been closed you can delete all the folders. You’ll find them in: C:\Users\[Windows_Login_ID]\AppData\Local\

Second Life Tool nPose Change

nPose is a tool for adding animations to things. It avoids pose balls, handles multiple people and animations… generally a good useful tool. It isn’t the easiest to use but, once learned it is handy and quick. Today I saw a notice that Howard Baxton, nPose lead programmer, is stepping down. He provided this notice 11/12/2016:

Have no fear!  The future of nPose is solid and progressive.  The only difference is I will not be involved.  Leona has agreed to pick up the pieces and move forward.  Her scripting and organizational skills are far better than mine so expect nPose to have a new face lift.

Leona has been involved with nPose since before the 2.0 release and has made most of the contributions to what nPose has become.  I know she is working on even more exciting features which you will see in the next release.  I am very grateful for all of her hard work and feel badly I am leaving her even more.

Please give Leona all the same support you’ve given me.  She will give everyone a great and amazing nPose.

Howard

The nPose headquarters are here. (Map URL) You’ll find demos and tutorials on using nPose.

Second Life and the US Election

For months, I’ve been debating people about Clinton and Trump in another arena. I voted against Clinton. With 17 candidates on the Republican side, I thought I would vote for someone. Didn’t happen.

You Say Potato

For the last eight years, I’ve watched polls, the big kid polls… Pew, Rasmussen, etc. Brexit, the last few US elections, and other elections in various countries, all are proving the polls and media wrong, again and again. So, what’s with the polls and media?

Sansar in the News 2016 w45

We aren’t hearing much new about Sansar. But, Hamlet found and article by Joe Durbin published on UPLOAD, Preview: ‘Sansar’ Could Give Social VR Worlds a Second Life. I think Hamlet was responding to Dubin’s enthusiasm. I found the enthusiasm interesting.

Project Sansar: Mars landscape.
Project Sansar: Mars landscape.

Quoting Dubin:

Sanar is as hard to describe to the uninitiated as [is] Second Life. It is not a game, a film, a tech demo, or a specific social VR experience. Sansar is raw, limitless virtual potential that can truly be forged into the inter-connected digital world we’ve been dreaming about since Snow Crash.

That is my expectation of what Sansar is to be. I do believe that just as the Lab has used projects in Second Life to demonstrate its abilities so too will they have projects to show what can be done with Sansar.
