Servers
There was a roll out to the main channel this week, Tuesday. This is another of those minor internal improvements.
There is no new package rolling to the RC channels this week. So, all servers on the main grid are running the same package.
VR in Second Life
The Second Life™ blogosphere is mostly silent on the state of VR in SL. A few blogs are covering the release of a sort of updated CtrlAltStudio viewer, version 1.2.6.43412. This is a viewer based on the Firestorm viewer version 4.6.9 from December 2014.
The viewer does support Oculus Rift CV1… the commercial retail consumer product.
Second Life TPD Meeting News 2016 w28
The Third Party Developer’s meeting ran 28 minutes. Attendance has been low. There is news and word on where the Lindens are focusing their attention.

The RC Second Life Maintenance Viewer version 4.0.7.317394 fixes lots of stuff and has some nice contributions by third parties.

Massively Overpowered has an article up titled: THE DAILY GRIND: WHICH MMO HAS THE BEST EYECANDY? Readers are contributing screen captures. Surprisingly only a couple of images surpass what we have in Second Life™, at least in my opinion.
