There are advances in the High Fidelity project. They have released a video to show us what they were up to in September.
From August we saw this demo of Oculus Rift eye tracking added into High Fidelity.
Then of course there is the key point of what is happening with the Rift… (Sept 23, 2015)
Watching the video I notice they have a demo room for trying out Oculus. There is debate about whether people will have the physical space to devote to VR. There is a trend in Japan and the USA to live in smaller spaces. The UN is pushing for smaller concentrated living spaces (Agenda 21). That puts this technology and economic and political realities in conflict.
The tentative release date for the commercial version of the Rift is early 2016.
