A blog post on the Kokua/Imprudence blog states the 3.6.1 version of Kokua is out in a test version that includes the Mesh Deformer. See: Kokua 3.6.1 Mesh Deformer Test Viewer.
The download is here: Additional Test Viewer Downloads. The version you want that has the Deformer is at the bottom of the page.
So could this be the start of what you thought could happen in your last Mesh Deformer post. About how the third party viewers could all bring out “test” viewers with the deformer coding in them, lets hope it is. Trying not to be pro firestorm, given that’s the viewer I use, lol but I think LL will only started to get worried and take note of what’s going on when firestorm put it in a “test” viewer.
Being pro Firestorm is not a bad thing. It is a popular viewer for a reason.
I agree, when Firestorm adds the Deformer, pressure will increase. Use of a ‘experimental’ or beta version viewer with the Deformer will be something the Lindens can see in their stats.
What users do with them may break the shared experience. Then it will be interesting to see what the Lab does… fight the trend or move on solving the avatar issues…
I found this video on youtube, showing the deformer on a firestorm viewer, no idea if that it a firestorm viewer other than the av’s tag. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8crobOdq5qA
Firestorm did have a version with the Deformer. I think the only Firestorm with the Deformer now is an experimental version.
