This week a package 17.05.05.326149 rolled out to the main channel. This package adds the server side of new Parcel Access Override for Estate Managers and Owners. Plus, support for the new Trash purging process. As yet we do not have the viewer side of the change for Parcel Access. The new Trash purging process is supported by the new default viewer.

Blue Steel and Le Tigre channels get the package 17.05.19.326482. This package includes the Parcel Access Override and a bug fix: BUG-100704 “[Server] If Anyone Can visit is selected after Allow Group was set only group members can enter“. This has created some confusion and locked some people out unintentionally.

The Magnum channel is supposed to get a package, but which has not been decided…  Continue reading

Oz Linden has his 64-bit viewer crash for the first time since he’s been using it. I’ve used it for weeks and only seen a couple of crashes.

The HTTPAssets Viewer got an update in week #20.

Voice is the same version. It has an ‘elevated’ crash rate. They haven’t yet figured out why. So, it won’t be promoting any time soon.

The maintenance viewer has the new Estate Manager controls. This is the more likely viewer to get promoted.

Expect a 64 bit RC release in a couple of weeks (#22 or #23). The last functional update has gone to QA. Expect it to update in week 21. Continue reading

OK, we started out the day having no idea what was deploying this week. The Deploys thread had not updated as of 12:30 SLT 5/16. – OK, later in the day Caleb got the post stickied and out where people can find it.

And now for something a little different

And now for something a little different

We do know the server operating system update of the previous week on Le Tigre was rolled back.

My update tracking at my home, main channel, shows no restart today (2:40PM 5/16).

The Deploy post, now that Whirly pointed me to it and now that someone changed the stickiness of the posts, shows no roll for the main channelContinue reading

Blue Steel and Magnum get the new package: #17.05.05.326151 – The package consists of “internal” changes… probably meaning bugs that only affect backend operation, nothing we would notice.

Le Tigre gets the package: #17.05.05.326155 – This isn’t a simulator software change. The servers running this channel are being upgraded to a new Operating System version. Sort like you updating Windows and not your viewer. We aren’t likely to see any noticeable changes, provided all goes well.

The OS upgrade will spread through the entire set of simulators.  Continue reading

The main channel did not get an update. Bummer. I was hoping the increased population change would roll across the grid.

I looked to see if Fantasy Faire has the RC version with the feature running. Nope. I had a lot of trouble crossing regions so, I thought the new version might be the problem..

The RC channels Blue Steel and Magnum are being updated with a new version of the increased population package: 17.04.13.325429. Le Tigre is getting a package with internal tool changes: 17.04.21.325687.  Continue reading

The main channel got an update Tuesday. This is the one with; several internal fixes and two new internal logging modes, another adjustment to fix issues with offline IM and Group Notice delivery reliability, and fixes an issue where large numbers of objects could be returned after a rolling restart.

The RC channels are getting two new packages. One is the one with increased population limits. That goes on Blue Steel and Le Tigre. The other has not been announced (TBD). It will be on Magnum.

At the Server-Scripting UG they claim the TBD is a top-secret project. You’ll have to decide if they are messing with us or being serious. Both are possible. Continue reading

The RC channels are getting a new package and will roll on Wednesday. According to the ‘deploys’ thread they all get the same package. This package includes:

  • Several internal fixes and two new internal logging modes
  • Another adjustment to fix issues with offline IM and Group Notice delivery reliability
  • Fixes an issue where large numbers of objects could be returned after a rolling restart

My understanding was the change for Estate Owner and Manager control of parcel access in a region was to be in this release but, I see no mention of it. Last week Oz, Grumpity, Caleb, and Mazidox Linden were all talking about it.  Continue reading
