You may not have heard, but Linden Lab is changing how they will handle freebies on XStreetSL. Basically they are going to charge a price for having freebies on XStreetSL. There are two controversies that swirl around this change. A good review of those can be found in Ciaran Laval’s blog post, So are you still calling Myth#1 a myth Pink?
KirstenLee's S18-1 (214)
KirstenLee has updated her site with news of an updated viewer, (214).
This viewer gets better and better. I use it for most of my photos in SL now. I have not had time to use this one yet. I plan to use it this weekend. More later.
Devokan, a Myst Style Build in Second Life
Devokan is a 2 SIM region in Second Life. It made the SL Hot Spots in early November. It is a quaint little place, peaceful and beautiful. In this article I cover many of the features of Devokan that casual visitors probably won’t notice. There is more to Devokan than meets the eye.

Busy

I’ve been busy with RL, moving, unpacking, getting what little work there is done, getting cable to my new home for a good Internet connection, writing proposals for the company I freelance for…
I have new articles planned for here. One that is most in my mind is about Devokan (SL Map). It recently made the SL Hot Spots (these scroll off so I can’t link). Fans from Myst Online, a closed MMO, are building and playing in Devokan (link requires SL account). There is a story to Devokan. One can read the story on the Guild of Maintainers site in Developments in Devokan (the guild is a fan group from Myst Online).
I have a story about the SL RPG Land of NoR and the RPG’s spinning off from it. I just have to figure out how write about the drama if that saga without it being boring.
I also have a review of Babylon 5 RPG in SL. I need to up date it and get it posted.
I just need more hours in the day… 🙂
Photo Sharing Sites Review

Update 11/23/09 – See Koinup below
I have not been blogging all that long. But I have learned images are important for a blogger. I suspect Torley mentioned my Emerald Viewer Review because of the images. What I am learning now is the number if images I need to publish. Also, I’m not making any money from this blog… I’m looking at how I might change that but that is another story. So, I need a free sharing plan.
I use Flickr, Photobucket and KOINUP. Each has some nice features. For my blogging use I find that I need albums, a way to group related images. For my gaming life I need Groups, which are a way to allow friends to share related images for social networking. I need an easy way to link to images for use in blogs.

Original Post
This week Modular Systems released version 1.23.4 (904). This version has lots of new features. One the guys will like is bouncy boobies. One everyone will appreciate is the client-side-AO. Read on. (Continued from GreenLife Emerald Viewer Review)
Emerald AO
AO’s or Animation Overrides are typically prims with animations and a control list that attaches to the viewer window as a HUD (heads up display). They control the walking, running, setting, jumping and other animations by overriding the default animations. The AO’s contain little computer programs (scripts) to run the animations. The scripts add to the sim server load. Now the Emerald team has added a client side AO. Skills Hak added this feature. Running the script client side means less load on sim servers and frees up a HUD slot. Plus it expands the number of animations you can load. Scripts in SL have a size limit. Plus Linden Lab (LL) is considering limiting scripts in some way like they limit prims (think tier).
