Hardware: Dynamic Super Resolution

Talking with Ormand Lionheart about the images in a video I made, he mentioned Dynamic Super Resolution. A bit of research shows this is a way to make your 2k-1920×1080 monitor look more like a 4k monitor. The keywords are “more like”.

The video explains and shows what is being talked about. It touches on the fact that a 1080 or 2k monitor is physically limited to showing that fixed number of pixels. Nothing anyone can do will change that. You have 1920×1080 pixels, horizontal and vertical, for a total of 2,073,600 pixels. Those manufactured into the screen. To get more pixels you need a screen manufactured with more.

Will the Internet Die Nov 8?

Some Internet security companies are warning of a major Internet failure on Nov 8th as some state sponsored entities may try to block USA voting results information, i.e., exit polls and such. No one knows if such outages will or won’t happen. But, there is a significant probability some actors will try to take down parts of the Internet. Adobe 2017 CC Update

We are getting a big update. User interfaces change… :/ I haven’t played with the new apps yet. They are downloading.

I expect more videos. There are 8 of Adobe’s apps that are updating. The list in the image below.

Within Photoshop is a feature that allows you to search for tools, image layers, help, and stock images. For those of you using Firestorm it is like the search inside Preferences. So, this will be fun. I’m used to looking for effects in Premiere using search.

This version has emojis. I don’t know that I’ll ever use them but, they may be fun. They are in the video at about the 25:00 minute mark. They are NOT intuitive. So, watch the video.

You have options for how you update in your Adobe CC App. Have fun.

Windows 10 Lock Screen Images

Win 10 has three settings for how your Windows lock screen displays; Windows Spotlight, Picture, and Slideshow. The Spotlight option provides a parade of images from all over the world. Before you login you often have the option to click on an ‘about’ type link. After login it takes you to a web page explaining where in the world the image was taken and something about it.

Along with the pictures you occasionally get an ad. I am guessing about 1 in 10… But, the images are worth the occasional annoyance. Some of the ad pictures are pretty neat. Whatever, I have Spotlight on.

Windows caches these images in the system. So, you can find and save them for later use. They are well hidden and the names are disguised. If you want to save the images, check out the article: How to Save Windows 10’s Lock Screen Spotlight Images to Your Hard Drive.
