JuicyBomb has a poll running on whether you wear a mesh body; never, some of the time, always. Check it out and vote: POLL: MESH BODY.
I’m thinking about getting one. I have the Slink demo. My thinking is there are not enough clothes yet. So, may be latter.
There is a beta release of the Dolphin Viewer out. The viewer still does not catch up with the SL Viewer, notably lacking the SL Share features. But, how often do you use that feature?
See the announcement: Finally! The first public beta of the new Dolphin Viewer 3!

Strawberry Singh has an article that links to some Second Life Facebook pages I hadn’t seen. See: A Second Life on Facebook.
When the new mesh avatars for new users were first released (5/15) many were concerned about what would happen when someone using one of those bought ‘system’ (e.g., shirt, pants…) clothes and tried to wear them. As was expected we are starting to hear from people about that problem in the SL Forum.

If new people find the forum they have a chance. But, the Knowledge Base is out of date (example: Controlling your avatar’s appearance), the SL Wiki is out of date (example: Appearance), and almost any place you look the information fails to make any mention of the difference between ‘Classic’ avatars and ‘People’ or Vampire avatars. If you don’t know, those are the selections new users are going to see when signing up now.
Ciaran has an article up on the changes coming to gaming (gambling) in Second Life™. These changes will affect ‘SKILL’ games.
There will now be Skill Gaming Regions… oh, and tier for those is US$345, up from the standard $295. PLUS… a $100 fee for asking to have a ‘Skill Gaming License’ … non-refundable if your app is rejected. And your RL self has to be in a country where the Lab can exercise legal control… where you can be easily sued, I suppose.
Read the details on Ciaran’s post: Coming Soon To Second Life – A Licence To Skill.
Hamlet has an interesting bit up in the article Update, Emily Short’s Blood & Laurels: From Linden Limbo to New York Times Feature in Four Months. Have you noticed he likes long titles?

The Market Place has seen some odd happenings. This was announced:
[Posted 3:46 PM PDT, 07 July 2014] We are performing unscheduled maintenance on the secondlife.com maturity filters that is causing some Marketplace listings to be listed under the wrong maturity rating. It is also causing event creations and Classified ads to fail due to the maturity filter. Please check back here for updates as we have them.
We know that Linden Lab is hiring. While one might think that new hires would be for work only on the new world being designed and built, some are positions that will deal with users and aspects of all of the Lab’s products.
