Cyan Worlds, Inc. announced in the Myst Online forum that they are working with Creative Kingdoms on MagiQuest an MMO version of the ARG part of the theme parks.

The Myst-Uru community, especially those that moved too Second Life, has been waiting for a project that Cyan Worlds sort of named ‘Something Else’ to finish. Why?

You see the Myst-Uru MMO game previously on GameTap as Myst Online Uru Live (MOUL) closed in April 2008. MOUL fans don’t give up. That happened once before when an earlier version of MOUL closed and fans hacked up servers and started to put the game back online. This time the fans were promised the MMO game as open source. Code was to be published this Spring.

The Guild of Messengers (GoMe) runs a monthly photo contest for Uru fans. You can read about it in several places. There is a thread on GoMa here: Maintainers’ Myst-Uru Photos Thread. The ‘How To’ for participating can be found on the GoMe forum in PhotoQuest Remembered. The rules of the contest are here: PhotoQuest Remembered Rules.

This contest is a continuation of the contest that ran in-game, thus the ‘remembered’. Without a live online game the CD/DVD based Myst games are being used.

Myst-Uru-SL Updates

Most Myst-Uru-SL fans know that Myst for the iPhone was released. Also a new trouble ticket and knowledge base was opened by Cyan. Also, Cyan joined the Twitter world. Another Myst Style build is going up in the SL region Devokan. Eder D’Uru guild meetings officially started last week and D’ni language and building classes have been and are being taught in Eder D’Uru. But do you know the names of the fan created ages currently available for play using the DVD, stand alone Myst game Complete Chronicles or Path of The Shell? Or how many ages are actively being worked on? Are they in preliminary stages or nearly complete?
