Truth and Tragedy

In the US race is being played to divide the country. Watt’s Up With That just published data published by the Washington Post, which they took from national crime stats compiled by government agencies. So, there are facts presented in ways you probably haven’t seen. Also, see data from FBI Table 43, Arrests by Race.

Percentage of races killed by police.

Percentage of races killed by police.

Saying this another way:

  • For every 10,000 white people arrested for a violent crime, 38 white people were killed by police (± 2).
  • For every 10,000 Hispanic people arrested for a violent crime, 21 Hispanic people were killed by police (± 3).
  • For every 10,000 black people arrested for a violent crime, 21 black people were killed by police (± 2).

This information is generally hard to find. It goes against the agenda pushed by liberals and progressives. The media, and that includes Yahoo News and Google Search, ignore it or bury it making it hard to find. I often have to switch search engines to find articles I’ve read in Drudge and know are out there. That more whites than blacks are killed by police is a fact people react violently to. Have you asked, why?

Best looking…

Massively Overpowered has an article up titled: THE DAILY GRIND: WHICH MMO HAS THE BEST EYECANDY? Readers are contributing screen captures. Surprisingly only a couple of images surpass what we have in Second Life™, at least in my opinion.

I decided to put some of my images from SL up in a comment. From following people on Flickr I know there are people with far nicer images.

Bento Post Meeting 2016 w28

This is the post user group meeting. This is discussion between the various developers. Matrice Laville, AvaStar programmer, is speaking. Cathy Foil, MayaStar developer, is there.

There are some places where I’ve time adjusted the play back to shorten the play time.

Bento Update 2016 w28

I finally made it to a Bento Meeting… YAY!

There is a second video of the post-meeting. Also for the next couple of weeks Vir Linden is on vacation. There will still be UG meetings. These will be mostly for user-developers to discuss problems. Coyot Linden (not a furry) will be there to pass along issues and question to Vir.

I’m uploading the post-meeting now.

Second Life: Oculus Rift CV1 Viewer & How To

Hamlet at New World Notes is pointing out David Rowe has a SL VR Viewer working. The page Hamlet  linked to is out of date. The new news is in the comments where David says,

Just tried LL’s Rift viewer and, well, it’s surprisingly un-good. It’s like the graphics are being fed from the wrong framebuffer object or the pipeline is being misconfigured when you switch into HMD view. Intentional or bugs? I suppose time will tell. The graphics should be able to be so much better (even if understandably the FPS isn’t so good)!

Note Jo Yardley’s comment about being able to use Vorpx with a regular viewer (i,e., like Firestorm, Alchemy, or LL’s regular viewer) to view Second Life in your Rift. I haven’t tried it myself but am told it can be used.
