Linden Lab is running a contest for Patterns users. See the image that came in my email. Then link over to: Alienware Arena Patterns Image Contest.
OH! WAIT! Patterns has gone multi-player… see the video after the fold.

I came across this and thought it pretty neat. GameTrailers.com does the top ten thing pretty often. In this case they are imagining which games they would like to see/play via the Oculus Rift. They make some interesting observations.

I am seeing lots of people suggesting that exploration games and virtual worlds are going to be more fun with Oculus… I suspect that mostly depends on the user. But, I’m looking forward to it.
You may not have noticed but, Myst was in the opening section. It is at about 20 sec in that you see a glimpse of Myst.
0:30 Amnesia – Looking around for what is after you… scary real.
I originally intended for this blog to be a reference tool for myself. People started reading it, seemed to enjoy it, and it became whatever it is today. But, there is a lot of great information in here. The problem is finding it.
I added the standard CATEGORIES widget in the left column. That gets you the main topics. But, that can still be a lot to look through and looking though 8 items per page can be tedious. Plus I tend to take periods were I run things together. Pathfinding and SSA get mixed in with other news.
I added the menu to some of the more popular things I and others are interested in. If you haven’t clicked a menu, you are missing out.
By now you have to know I am a Myst fan. Myst was the first non-violent computer game I got to play. This article is about some of the goings on related to Myst and the company that made the game: Cyan Inc. I am seeing more activity from them recently, meaning this year. In this economy and considering their past belt tightening I think this suggests a change is starting to become apparent. But, only time will tell.

I tend to notice things Cyan and Myst. What I have noticed recently; the Myst Online forum software was updated, a new Cyan Worlds Forum was added that is an umbrella for all the Cyan games/apps, Cyan updated their Cyan Worlds web site, and their Cyan Facebook page is active. Plus there are rumors of a new product that is to be released in September 2013.
Cloud Party says they have been quite for a time because they have been so busy. They say they have been in rebuild mode for some time… whatever that means. But, they say great things are coming any day now…
See: So…what’s up with Cloud Party? And technical updates!
