This week there are no server rollouts.

I’ve seen a couple of comments about unusually intense griefing. But, I haven’t seen it happening in my travels, but SL is a big place. I know there are some places that get lots of attention from griefers. Other regions like mine seem to seldom see a griefer.

I do get noobies coming from a landing hub that get trapped in my house and can’t figure out how to get out. It is sort of like having flies in the house… they fly around bumping into the walls. Continue reading →

I am sort of pleasantly surprised by the answers to a question in the Fab Advice column. When the advisors were asked which are the best boobs and butts, only one had answers. So, the question has to have run through some minds regarding how sex would be with the Oculus Rift. A lot of people seem to play the game of ‘breaking in’ new things. When I first thought of it I guessed people would be dodging when Tango Lolas went by.

A company in Irvine, California named Sinful Robot is developing a ‘sex’ game for the Oculus Rift: Sinful Robot is hiring people and moving ahead in developing an erotic game that will have as its basic quest as sexual gratification. Second Life Griefing 2013-24

Every release of the viewer and server software has more fixes to stop griefing. But it is an escalating problem. Sort of an arms race.

A recent casualty appears to be the Pornstars group. It seems that group is going to close because of griefer infiltration. It will be replaced with a new group:  The Sexiest® : Pornstars click the name to find the group.

You may be unexpectedly ejected from the group. That will be the group closing. There is some hope this may be avoided. But, that depends on whether the Lab helps out.

Many are hoping the coming Group Ban Lists will help with this problem.

#SL’s Zindra Business Interview

I got interviewed by Ginette Pinazzo. She is a strongly opinionated mover and shaker in the Adult Content community. I met her when I started to attend the Adult Content User Group meetings. I realized she had opinions and knew Second Life™ history. It wasn’t long before I realized some people like her and others seem to detest her. Others just don’t understand her. But, are any of us really understood?

#SL Adult Content Problems

I used to attend the Adult Content User Group (ACUG) meetings. Some of the most fun people were there. But, IMO Viale Linden pretty much killed off the user group. It was pretty much dead by the end of 2011. There are resident groups that organize their own projects on the adult continent. But, they little of the Lindens.

Now a year since the end of the user group Voodoo Redek is trying to get the Lab to change its stance on the ACUG or at least help out with the griefing issues in the adult continent’s Zindra’s Vortex Help Island/sandbox. Viale Linden is gone so there are possibilities things are changing.

The Zindra Help Vortex is one of the sandboxes where volunteers help new users and those wanting to learn about building in Second Life™. Of course it has an adult content lean, but that is not a requirement for those using the Vortex.

The Vortex has been having more than its share of griefing problems. The volunteers are tired of filling Abuse Reports with no apparent effect. Voodoo finally got to the point of saying something.

This is a very humourous activity, and we are working with artist Silene Christen to plan it. Contact Ginette Pinazzo for details. ALSO, if you know other such landowners or business owners, spread the word!

So, if you have shops on the Adult Continent, Zindra, this is a chance to get some publicity.

Adult RP 2012 Postponed

Nikira Naimarc sent me a news release on the Adult Role Play 2012 event. It seems it is being postponed. While I think it could be an interesting event, those sponsoring and participating as the movers and shakers have to be excited too. There also has to be enough of them to pull off such an event.

Events like SL9B takes a bunch of work and money. It can be far too much work and money for one person. The more people involved the easier it becomes. That is sort of what is happening with the Adult RP 2012 event. There is also considerable financial risk. Event sponsors will want some assurance of a successful event that has a good possibility of returning their investment. Such assurance is hard to come by with first time events.
