There is no roll on the main channel. It will continue to run #18.06.14.516450.
There is no info on the RC channels. We are not going to hear until tomorrow.
Today we found out they ran into problems with the Animesh rollout. There was something going on with the physics shape of mesh, not animesh, mesh. So, they are working on that.
Simon pointed out “…when building with mesh, there are a few ways to set that [physics body] shape, and the animesh code changes affected that code.” So, they hit a bug in the animesh code, or at least the code affected something.
Oz Linden says they are working on BUG-216320. This is the one that kills HTTP requests from LSL scripts to SL API’s.
The main viewer is 18.104.22.1686459. It has been since week #26.
Second Life Maintenance Viewer version 22.214.171.1247594 – This is an update from last week. The previous version 126.96.36.1996813 came out in week #26.
Second Life Project 360 Snapshot Viewer version 188.8.131.525934 – Last updated in week #10.
Second Life Project Animesh Viewer version 184.108.40.2066979 – Last updated in week #26.
Second Life Project Bakes On Mesh Viewer version 220.127.116.116270 – This version was released in week #25.
I was expecting more viewers to be updated today. That may still happen this week. We may see the Animesh viewer bump up to RC status. Also, the EEP project viewer may make it out this week. It is hard to say because Rider is ‘dogfooding’ the feature.
I suspected something was going on with animesh because the updates for the RC server channels haven’t been decided on and no roll to the main channel. This is usually something that happens when an update isn’t quite there but close enough it might be OK to test and is wanted badly enough. Above in the viewers section I mention that Simon explained what happened.
Black Dragon – v3.2.0 – Falling Dragon – This release has a big PLUS for machinima people. The camera has a feature to allow you to tell it to follow a bone. Nice. See the demo video in the announcement.
NiranV has brought the viewer up to par with Linden 5.1.7. NiranV says not a lot of testing. So, there are probably some bugs. Those will get fixed.
…ummm… I bought a helicopter. O.O
