Jo Yardley has obviously been watching the news about Oculus use in Second Life. It isn’t good. See: Second Life Oculus ready viewer released, fails to impress.
Seems performance with Oculus has degraded between the time the first Oculus viewer was released and this one. That is disappointing.

I mentioned in the Third Party Dev article earlier today that the Oculus Rift Project Viewer updated. It jumped from version Second Life Project Oculus Rift Viewer version 3.7.18.295296 (like 2 years old) to version 4.1.0.317313 (7/1/2016).

In week 26 the Third Party Developers’ meeting ran 47 minutes. As it is a holiday weekend in the USA many of the regular attenders were not there. But, we did get some good information and lots of dates, which is unusual. So, this gives us a good guide for what is coming and when.
Second Life Inventory Message Viewer version 4.0.6.315555 – This RC viewer is almost certain to see a Tuesday promotion to the main viewer.

This build contains some bug fixes:
There is no roll to the main channel this week.
There is a Wednesday roll out. The RC channels Blue Steal and La Tigre are getting the same maintenance package, I think. Caleb is clear. I had to read the version numbers to decide. While Magnum is getting a new package with the same version number as Blue and Tigre.
This package has Minor internal changes and Tool Tip/Constant text fixes.
PS: Fix for BUG-18251, BUG-10979, and a cosmetic fix for Bento attachment points, per Simon Linden.
PPS: One crash fix, and some anti-griefing stuff.
PPPS: The griefing fix is changing ways the region works to try and stay running when attacked. Simon Linden: no, it’s nothing externally visible.
