The viewer is out and people are playing with it. I’ve had some time to use the viewer. There are things I like and things that really suck. I believe the adoption of this viewer as the standard Second Life viewer will push many longer time residents to use third party viewers.

Rumors are a new version of Snowglobe will be released… any minute now…

Snowglobe 1.2.4.3007, November 18, 2009 is the current stable release.

Snowglobe Release Candidate 1.3.1.3125, February 5, 2010 is the current advanced version.

Snowglobe 2.0.0.0, February 22, 2010 is apparently the rumored new Snowglobe.

Emerald Viewer 1.23.5.1582 Released – Review

Emerald is currently in a fast release cycle right now. A significant release came out on the 17th with 2 more quick releases following. I am expecting at least one more soon.

The download I got today (2/22) actually shows version 1628…

The grid manager has been improved over version 1582. It now saves your log on information. Yay! That helps. There is now an ‘Edit Saved Logins’ button on the login screen.

Blender 2.5/2.49b – Second Life & Blue Mars

Many of us have heard that Blender 2.5 is on the way. Blender 2.5 Alpha 0 is out and can be downloaded. It is Alpha software. Some features from the 2.4 series are not all working in 2.5. How the missing features are implemented is changing, so there is some delay. There seems to be lots of changes coming. One thing that has not changed is installation information which is still limited and what is out there pretty much assumes one is a geek. So, I’ll provide some help I think is less geeky.
