Trend Micro has announced Apple is ending support for QuickTime™. (Reference) No more security updates. Along with that announcement the Dept. of Home Land Security (DHS) published an advisory that Windows users should uninstall QuickTime.

Time for LL to migrate to the gstreamer SDK for Windows so to play Quicktime (and any other format) movie ?… After all, the gstreamer plugin already exists for Linux, and using it under Windows would be quite doable…
That’s Quicktime for Windows, Mac OS X is unaffected.
