Additional Tech Notes
An October 29 interview with Linden Lab Senior Vice President of Product Anya Kanevsky (article @ 80LV) highlighted ongoing efforts to position Second Life as more approachable to modern game developers via Luau (Lua) scripting, Visual Studio Code integration for live iteration on objects/linksets, and the existing creator economy, without replacing LSL. Approximately 700,000 monthly active users were cited. Region-crossing work and anti-phishing group-chat controls continued as practical improvements for creators and residents.

Overall, October emphasized reliability, cross-device chat continuity, controller support for more game-like experiences, anti-spam tools, and continued Lua groundwork, while third-party viewers (especially Firestorm) delivered substantial user-facing customization on top of upstream changes.
