Second Life News 2018 w/36

Monday was a US holiday, Labor Day. So, scheduled things are off this week. As of 9:45 AM this morning and 3:45 PM this afternoon there is no Deploys thread post in the forum. However, my mainland home region did restart this morning.

There probably was no roll and this was just a 2-week restart for performance’s sake.

RL pulled me away today and I missed the Server-Scripting UG meeting… 🙁

Nothing out where I can see it…

However, Hamlet at New World Notes has provided Black Dragon Tips & Design Notes. In the article NiranV is explaining some of the design considerations and reasoning behind the viewer.

You’ll find BD needs some changes to the NVIDIA setup for SL viewers. I didn’t know that. Checking I find it does depend on how your computer and screen are setup and what they are. But, the basic how to for NVIDIA Full Color is here.

For other details of the SL setup for NVIDIA see: NVIDIA Settings 2016. These are old, but nothing has really changed.

Strawberry Singh is attempting stream mesh head reviews… and keep them short…

Weekly stipends were delayed. Again…

Daniel Voyager notes that the new content mentioned in a couple of blogs has grown to 384 regions. See New SSP Continent Grows. It grew by 304 regions in about a week.

Daniel is calling it the Super-Secret Project – SSP… No word from the Lindens yet.

Everyone is speculating on what the regions are for… like a new game, experience, or housing. So, I’ll speculate on why… Could these be test regions living in the cloud? OR could they be regions where the new EEP and/or animesh will be demonstrated?

It would be interesting to see the Lindens mix Animesh and Pathfinding.

If you are interested in Sansar stats… Daniel has some here.
