Yesterday I couldn’t make the user group meeting, RL lunch meeting. So, I’m relying on Inara’s coverage and the Deploys thread for what came out in that meeting.

There was no roll planned for the main channel. My main channel home region did not get a restart. It continues to run version #18.08.10.518612.

AFAIK, the RC channels did restart all updating to version #18.08.24.519036. This is some backend change needed to get the new land auction system working.

BUG-216320 is the one about the SL API for user stats failing when called from in-world scripts. Inara says, “Oz Linden summed-up the status of work on this thus: It turns out that it was two independent problems. We’ve fixed one, but the other is still pending.”

So… it is getting fixed. But, this is leaving a big hole in my record of the stats. 🙁 But, they aren’t changing that fast.

All those mountains and distant islands we see are actually outside the region are called SIM Surrounds. Since the changes in the previous SL Viewer 5.1.7 people have been having problems seeing them. That is now classed as a bug. (BUG-225295 )

Viewers

The main viewer is version 5.1.8.518593. This is the one with voice updates put in service week #34.

Second Life Animesh Viewer version 6.0.0.518949 – This is a new version. I suspect it is only updated with the voice changes.

Second Life Bugsplat Viewer version 5.1.8.518305 – Week #32. This should update and be a duplicate of the main viewer, but with different crash reporting.

Second Life Love Me Render Viewer version 5.1.8.518751 – Released last week (34). This is the version getting render engine updates and fixes. Much of this work is for the coming EEP changes.

Second Life Project 360 Snapshot Viewer version 5.1.6.515934 – Last updated in week #10.

Second Life Project Bakes On Mesh Viewer version 5.1.7.518013 – Released in week #32.

Black Dragon 3.2.4 – Oh God… interface changes… See the announcement here.

NiranV came up with novel ideas; build in a ‘revert to previous setting’ for slider settings, hook the scroll wheel to sliders, click on slider moves mouse to the control button rather than changing the setting (not sure I’ll like this one – I will have built new habits and those are likely to mess me up in other apps), making up and down arrows change the slider nudge factor, and adding a delay on texture settings. Check it out for the details. Neat ideas.

And there is some other stuff.

Kokua 5.1.8 – This update adds the new Linden voice improvements.

This only applies when you click onto the slider thumb, not the slider itself, this is to prevent you from instantly accidentally changing the value when you actually just wanted to select the slider somehow and finetune with the arrow keys, though the new functionality makes it kinda obsolete since you can simply hold CTRL and scroll up/down to do the same now.
