Second Life: Cheap Thrills

Cheap is good. Thrills are… well… thrilling. So, where do you get yours? Thrills…

I was playing around and got a notice that the Cheap Thrills show was about to start. For whatever reason, I decided to check it out. I was impressed.

I took the opportunity to video the show. It lasts an hour. I didn’t want to make an hour-long video. So, I edited out lots of the show. But, there is enough to give you an idea of what it is like. I took out some of the more interesting parts… I didn’t want to spoil the surprises.

The show is impressive. SL tech is put to surprisingly good use. Slick presentation. A few very good illusions are used. The choreography obviously requires some serious animation effort.

Unfortunately, toward the end my viewer crashed.

The show was at the Tai Chi Zen Club House. The next shows of the performance are at:

  • 12/18/16 – 2:30 PM PST/SLT at Mediterraneo OC – Sunday
  • 1/15/17 – 2:30 PM PST/SLT at Mediterraneo OC – Sunday
  • 1/22/17 – 2:30 PM PST/SLT at Mediterraneo OC – Sunday
  • 1/29/17 – 2:30 PM PST/SLT at Tai – Sunday

They have a group so you can stay up to date and get reminders: CHI. And they have a Subscribe-O-Matic in Tai. Of course; a web site, Facebook, Wikipedia, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, and Plurk.

The Flickr collection is a rather tedious shotgun posting of images. I think they need to learn how to post the best of their best. As it is there are way too many almost identical images. And whats with posting images of people that didn’t completely rez?

There Plurk account is basically unused. Since they have a blog, there is no reason for not being active on Plurk. There are plug-ins that auto-post to social media. The Twitter tweets just point to Facebook. At least they are active on Facebook.
