Cyan Worlds Stirrings – Myst

By now you have to know I am a Myst fan. Myst was the first non-violent computer game I got to play. This article is about some of the goings on related to Myst and the company that made the game: Cyan Inc. I am seeing more activity from them recently, meaning this year. In this economy and considering their past belt tightening I think this suggests a change is starting to become apparent. But, only time will tell.

I tend to notice things Cyan and Myst. What I have noticed recently; the Myst Online forum software was updated, a new Cyan Worlds Forum was added that is an umbrella for all the Cyan games/apps, Cyan updated their  Cyan Worlds web site, and their Cyan Facebook page is active. Plus there are rumors of a new product that is to be released in September 2013.

The year 2013 is Cyan’s 20th anniversary of the original Myst Game, which was the world’s top selling video game until the SIMs came along and took over. So, we are seeing some effort by Cyan Worlds to commemorate the anniversary.

Fans are making lots of plans to celebrate with various events in Cyan’s MMOG: Myst Online: Uru Live, now free to play.

Recently Riven, a Myst sequal, was released for iOS. (January 2013)

Cyan Stars & History
